Fall 2009 Updates

Hello ladies of the Alumnae Panhellenic of Tallahassee!

The Fall 2009 semester is already off and running, and I wanted to take a moment to tell you I’m excited to be serving as your President this year with a team of AMAZING women who are equally excited about Alumnae Panhellenic! We have great things to come…here are a few things to watch out for:

Socials and Events

We have moved the new and exciting event Tour of Homes to March 20th to give more time to make it fabulous, and instead we’ll do another one of our popular happy hour events on Tuesday, October 6th at a new location, Bella Bella Vino at 5:30pm. Later in the month, during the excitement of FSU Homecoming Week, we’ll host our first-ever Member Mixer on Thursday, October 29th at 7:30pm. This cocktail-attire event is reminiscent of the “date functions” from college days – watch for event details to come!

Membership Drive

Our VP Jessica Oyster will soon be announcing details for our October Membership Drive! There are two types of membership: Chapter and Individual. Each Chapter should be represented by a “delegate” and has voting privileges in the organization (dues are $30 per chapter). Individuals can join (dues are $15 per woman) to support the organization and receive networking benefits and member-pricing at events. A new feature this year will be a newsletter that will showcase professional achievements, personal milestones, and anything else worth celebrating! Details about the newsletter will be available with your membership application. As October approaches, information about the Membership Drive will be available.

Business & Planning Meetings

There are opportunities for leadership and personal involvement at all levels in the organization, and we encourage you to take an active role. On December 1st, we’ll have our Fall Business Meeting that all voting delegates should attend. Others are welcome as well! This month, Dalisha Herring will host a committee meeting for the Spring Awards Luncheon at her home on Monday, September 28th at 6:30pm. Anyone interested in contributing to the luncheon is welcome to attend. Additionally, your Executive Board will continue to meet multiple times per semester to plan events and provide APH leadership.

These are just a few of the exciting things happening with Alumnae Panhellenic. If you know a local Panhellenic woman who is not yet involved, take a moment to invite her to the next happy hour social on October 6th. It’s a great way to extend your friendship and introduce her to an entire support network of women, colleagues, and friends. We have fun too!

Yours in Panhellenic,

Jennifer Behnke

TAPH President
