General Event Details
The luncheon will take place on the 6th floor of the University Center Club and APT will be the only group on the floor that day.
There is plenty of free parking and close-in handicapped parking spots for those that need them. There is also a drop-off area in front of the building for those that need to drop off passengers before parking.
A delicious buffet lunch is planned and a cash bar is available. The committee discussed menu options and Karen will be finalizing plans with the University Center Club. There should be plenty of options for those that are vegetarian or have other dietary needs.
Barbara will be working on centerpiece ideas to bring back the Valentine’s Day theme for the luncheon.
Our speaker, Dana Brooks, is looking forward to addressing the attendees on the topic of equality and social justice.
Scholarships and Awards
Scholarship applications for the collegians are due March 3 and will be awarded in a separate ceremony. This is due to the delays caused by Carol’s accident and subsequent surgery and recovery.
The Alumnae Philanthropic Grant will be awarded at the Luncheon and Alumnae Chapters are encouraged to apply.

The committee is looking for alumnae and alumnae groups to donate items for the silent and live auctions.
One of the attendees has donated a stay at her condo at the coast. Carol will be getting more details from the owner, including pictures.
Alumnae chapters are asked to create themed gift baskets for the auction. Individual attendees are encouraged to donate items as well. Plants, baked goods, gift cards, handmade, and antique items like china, glass, etc. are always popular.
If you have items to donate, please contact Karen Ellis.
There will be a Luncheon Pep Rally on February 1, the purpose of which is to sell luncheon tickets, collect non-perishable items for the auction, and sign up volunteers to assist the day of the event.
Upcoming social events are in the works including sorority house tours followed by a social hour; bunco at Westminster Oaks.
Good and Welfare
Danielle Zemola will be reviewing existing copies of the APT bylaws and will help create an updated version for the chapter. Barbara Forbes-Lyons is assisting.
Sorority Representative memberships are lagging. Barbara will send out a renewal email. An increase in dues was also discussed for both Representative and Individual memberships. These dues help offset the costs of events and supplies for the group. This will be voted on in conjunction with the acceptance of the new set of bylaws.
A slate of officers is needed – the actual number of officers and positions is being reviewed as part of the bylaws revision.
Anyone interested in serving as an officer or committee member is encouraged to contact Carol Spring.
